This semester, San Diego Continuing Education formally began the Career Development and Placement Services (CDPS) program with staff visiting all six campuses to assist students with their job search. In addition to seeing students for brief career development sessions Career Counselors and a recently hired Employer Liaison will present workshops in the classroom, publish an employment newsletter for students, assist in maintaining a job bank, develop relationships with employers and hold job fairs targeting SDCE training programs.
Doug Elliot is the Career Counselor assigned to the Centre City campus on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-11:30. He has a variety of experiences helping people find work including working in social services, with the U. S. Navy, self-employment, helping laid off workers and assisting students. Doug suggests that if you do not have the following, then you may need his services:
If you would like to make an appointment to see Doug, contact the student service/counseling office staff. If you have a resume that needs reviewing or questions about your career or job search, you may also e-mail Doug at delliot@ sdccd.edu.
