
Job Training
In six short weeks, prepare for a career in sustainable building and clean tech fields. Learn at a new state-of-the art facility in a hands-on environment that includes lab and lecture.
Upon completion, you’ll have the education and skills needed for entry-level work in these areas of the green building industry:
HVAC
Mechanics, technicians, or installers repair, maintain or install heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Solar Photovoltaic
Install systems that generate solar electricity to heat and cool entire homes or buildings.
Energy Auditors
Energy raters collect, analyze, and validate field energy usage and prepare reports on the total energy profile of a building or home.
Building Performance / Retrofit Specialists
Improve the energy efficiency of homes or buildings by installing insulation, windows, lighting, and other energy efficient products.
Building Control Systems
Technicians combine traditional skills of building technicians with advanced skills in controls programming, networking, and systems integration.

Registration
Contact a One Stop Career Center to have your eligibility certified. Be certain to tell the staff you are interested in the free Green Building Training. Visit www.sandiegoatwork.com for locations.
- Age 18+ and legal to work in the United States
- Must be registered for selective service (call toll-free 1-888-655-1825)
- Reading and math must be at least 8th grade level
Orientation
Four orientation dates are available for upcoming classes. Orientation dates and times are:
- March 1, 2012, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- March 2, 2012, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
- March 15, 2012, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- March 16, 2012, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Classes
A class will be offered this spring, beginning April 16. Call or e-mail Beverly Garcia at 619-388-4876, or bgarcia@sdccd.edu to receive updated class information as it becomes available. Attend Monday through Friday with hours ranging from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM for a total of 100 classroom hours and 20 hours of on-the-job training.
