If you’re passionate about food, or often found at your local farmers market or grocery store because you love to create delicious meals, think about a culinary career that will take you beyond your kitchen.

Salary information is based on hourly, monthly, or annual estimates from the State of California Employment Development Department.

600 hours. Complete in 24 to 36 weeks.
You will learn:

  • Knife skills
  • Culinary principles, from stocks and sauces to international cuisine
  • Culinary theory and history
  • Nutrition basics
  • Baking and pastry basics
  • Food presentation and styling
  • Culinary computer applications
  • Culinary measurement and math
  • Preparation for culinary employment

This program is hands-on in an industrial kitchen area from day one. You’ll also practice developing menus and managing food costs, which will give you a good understanding of the restaurant business.

A Certification of Completion is awarded for successfully completing each module. A Culinary Arts Program certificate is awarded upon successfully completing all six modules.
