Account Clerk Certificate Program

Background:
The Account Clerk Certificate Program is designed to provide students with the basic skills necessary to achieve success in the accounting field. Students follow a prescribed course of study which includes successful completion of Step One (Front Desk / Office Assistant) core curriculum prior to entry into the Account Clerk Certificate Program.
Typical Tasks:
- Type at a minimum of 35 nwpm
- Use the Accounting Equation
- Post to journals and ledgers
- Understand adjusting and closing entries
- Develop worksheets and financial statements
- Understand Payroll accounting, Taxes, and Reports
- Work with Sole Proprietorships, Partnerships, and Corporations
- Use automated accounting software
- Complete reports using spreadsheet software

Orientation and Registration:
Program Orientation is required in order to sign up for the program. At the orientation you will learn about the Data Entry Specialist Certificate Program curriculum, what your time commitment will be, and the resources available to help you achieve your goals. Orientation and registration take place once a week.
To register for the orientation:
Call the counseling center at the Continuing Education campus where you plan to enroll to reserve a place in the orientation.
