Automotive Upholstery
The Automotive Upholstery certificate program at ECC is a self-paced, 600-hour training program that can be completed in 6 to 8 months. Students also have the option to learn Furniture and/or Marine Upholstery. The Automotive Upholstery program teaches students how to:
- Follow safety requirements in upholstery
- Use and maintain upholstery hand and power tools, including computerized sewing machines
- Identify various upholstery materials and designs
- Layout, fabricate and install seat upholstery, carpets, headliners, convertible tops, door panels, arm rests, pleating and button tufting
- Sew beading, curves, square corners and zipper inserts
- Develop better communication, customer service and business skills
Graduates receive a 600-hour Certificate of Program Completion.
