Beginning Stained Glass 1

This class is ideal for beginners and experienced artisans. Develop your creative skills while learning to cut glass, do lead and copper foil fabrication, solder, and design. Create panels, windows, lampshades, and two and three dimensional projects. All students will leave the class with finished projects. Instructor to provide materials list for students to purchase outside of class- Approximate minimal cost of $120.

Handwoven Lavender Sachets

Learn how to weave fragrant lavender sachets using a portable hand-held loom. You'll learn how to warp the loom, weave a small piece of fabric, fill with freshly dried organic lavender and stitch it closed. A variety of embellishments will be provided for decoration. Perfect timing for the holidays these sachets make GREAT stocking stuffers. You'll also learn how to dry your own lavender and how to strip the buds to make potpourri. Materials fee paid to instructor- $27

Ornate Pine Needle Basketry

Learn to create beautiful, artistic baskets coiled around polished stone. Basket weaving is a relaxing and a great way to recycle plant trimmings! Pine needles and waxed line thread are provided. The coiling technique can be applied to many other materials such as lavender, dusty miller, rosemary and others. Students need to bring a sack lunch and scissors. Materials fee- $26.

Pewtersmithing

Pewter, made up of antimony, cooper, and tin is one of the most mysterious of the non-ferous metals. Due to it's very low melting temperature and high malleability it can be moved faster and in different ways than other metals. In this workshop you will learn to solder, fuse and form pewter along with different finishing techniques. Create one to two finished products. Materials fee-$60.

Printmaking

Printmaking is a centuries old technique for creating art and illustrations in multiple originals. Over the generations it has evolved into a Fine Art form capable of producing beautiful and unique expressions of the printmaker's imagination and skill.

The class will introduce to beginners or advanced students, at all levels, printmaking methods such as Drypoint, Etching, Aquatint, Mezzotint, Collagraph, Woodcut and Linoleum Block.

Advanced students will receive instruction in Viscosity, color printing, relief and Intaglio according to their interests.

Produce Your Own Multimedia Memoir

Learn to tell the important stories of your life and share them by creating a multi-media memoir - a digital story. Learn the five step process in a hands-on workshop with coaching at each step: write and record a compelling narrative; digitize media assets (photos, memorabilia, music); create a storyboard; and combine all the ingredients to produce a CD and DVD for sharing over television, computer or the Internet.  To see  examples of multimedia memoirs on Youtube, please visit www.youtube.com/user/jadydmont.
